The shy nuthatch

This morning we took a drive to the RSPB site at Burton Mere Wetlands. It was a first time visit for us and even though the sun could have come out to play for a while instead of hiding, it was a very pleasant morning all the same.
There were tons of geese, ducks and other waders in the water but I spent more time watching the wild bird feeders being swamped with goldfinches and tits. And every now and then a rather handsome nuthatch dared to join in. Eventually I managed a passable shot of him as he came down for a meal.
