Signs and legends

This is my friend Gavin. He is visiting along with Rachel and their two kids. It's lovely to see them up from London for a weekend of Bristol precipitation.

Gavin is standing next to a mural painted on the last house at the end of my street. No one is sure of its meaning. It was put there by Pete the former occupant of number 34. A man rarely seen out of a boiler suit and the subject of several local legends.

I didn't know Pete, other than by sight and he died a couple of years ago. But on checking out our street on streetview the other day, there he is housepainting. Odd.
