On Some Days

Flat to the horizon . . .

Just for fun we were in four states today: New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado.  The forester has become very interested in the Santa Fe Trail since coming here.  We went to a small museum in Boise City Oklahoma and he educated himself some more.  Boise City is in Cimarron County and was in the centre of the 1930's Dust Bow  They had some Dorothea Lange  photographs of the families who  went west to escape the Dust Bowl.  Brilliant images that will stay with me for a long time.
My shot today is from the car looking at a little FedEx van driving through the flat landscape of eastern Colorado.  It is always a surprise to us from a little country that we are driving here and can see vast prairies stretching to the horizon all around us.
