Big Night Out!

Took Mum to the Dobbie's Garden Centre Christmas preview night.  Tickets were £1 each, and the money went to Teenage Cancer Trust.

For our pound we got loads of wee free nibbles: blinis with various toppings, mini-Christmas cakes and pies, tiny meringues and chocolate truffles, glasses of alcoholic (her) and non-alcoholic (me - designated driver) mulled wine.  And best of all, there was a chocolate fountain, which we managed to wheel her by several times!  Yum.

There was entertainment, in the form of this statuesque young lass striding around, and a man playing the guitar very loudly.  Christmas Carols were belting out over the sound system, and weirdly, I didn't even mind!

She got loads of her Christmas shopping done, and had a good laugh with her pals Doris and Margaret who came with us.  We had a wee cup of tea in the café while waiting for the Raffle to be drawn, then home to her wee dog.

Who would have known that a Garden Centre on a cold and dark October night could be so much fun?
