Not Alone

Last day of #GAPC2015 at the EICC. Here Professor David Jerrigan, Director, Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth, John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, USA, looks back over the three days of conference as well as forward into the future. I liked this quote he highlighted as it brought home the connectedness of it all, and touches on the hope for a 'new politics' here in Scotland, post indyref, and in the wider UK since the election of Jeremy Corbyn to the leadership of the Labour Party. A politics where the people can organise and use democracy to truly challenge the powers of Big Alcohol, Big Pharma, Big Food, Big Power, the Military Industrial Complex and the 1%. Building a consensus is always difficult but as I have said recently, there are only two sides and if we allow our side to be fractured and divided then the other side will continue to win. Together we can make a better world.
