A Chilled-Out Day
It's been a glorious day in Canterbury and North Otago, perfect for a drive home on my birthday.
We decided to head back from the Maniototo via the Pigroot to Palmerston and then up the coast via Shag Point and our lunch destination at Fleur's Place at Moeraki.
I once again walked out to the rocks at Shag Point, employing my long modified tokina telephoto to grab this shot of a sleeping New Zealand Fur Seal.
It's always a privilege getting close to seals on many parts of our coastline; they're quite a good subject for nature photograph too as they tend to lie still for long periods, basking in the sun.
Not a bad life I reckon!
