A Pensioner
Well, today, only if you're interested.
An early start to my day, now that my lovely teenage daughter has started her new school for 6th form we have to rise half an hour earlier. Half an hour doesn't seem much but its actually quite refreshing and i find things to do. I can do a little work being a sort of agile worker, I can tidy up a little. As one teenager goes out to catch her bus another is just getting up so to catch his. Very methodical and all works out well. I've even been to work a little earlier.
So, with an early morning I dropped off Mr C who was going for a minor operation on his ears. It was under general anesthetic so given his other health issues it becomes a slight risk - well it does in my head anyway even if its not in the doctors or anyone else. I was a little worried. So we passed out pleasantries, declared our love for each other and said goodbye. I'd receive a text or a call later when he was in recovery.
At work i had a good day, I had some good news and we had a laugh about one or two things, buying a new carpet was one of them.
The afternoon was long! I received texts all afternoon that he hadn't been to theatre, a little worried he'd not eaten anything since last night but the drs and nurses know what they are doing. My last text came around 3.30pm still not been. I sent one at 4 and no reply, he must have gone.
Now to wait for the call to say he was ok.
It came on the way to my teenage sons football training. At least he could train and not worry about his dad. Another text suggested we would go and see him. We visited after training and arrived just as the bell was ringing to leave! He looked well but still can't hear us just yet. When we arrived he was doing his tidy up thing and he very quickly scrunched up this peice of paper. Having seen a bit of it I wanted to see the rest. He was very reluctant to give it to me and laughed at me. Convinced he had something to hide I grabbed it to read it and this is what I saw "Special Pensioners Hearing Aid'. No wonder he was hiding it. How funny to find out I'm married to a pensioner!
