Hall with a history
Down at the London Cruise Terminal again with 300 kids, trying to enthuse them to go into science or engineering.
This building was used as a reception centre for immigrants (horrible word) in the 1950's.
They were really economic migrants, not fleeing persecution, just wanted a better life.
Their arrival at the time was met with fear and prejudice, but on the whole they fitted in, took pride in where they lived, fought for the country and stood for the National Anthem.
I expect some of the kids here today have grandparents who waited in this hall to enter Britain.
Makes you think doesn't it?
