Porches

The town of Porches has become known for its pottery. We bought a few small pieces some 15+ years ago and it is good to see this firm still going strong.

Like everyone it has modernised and diversified - on site restaurant etc.

At least it is original Portuguese. Going round some of the supermarkets I've been struck by the huge range of imports for tourists.

Somewhat surprised though in this part of the world renowned for sardines and seafood to find in the freezer section, packets of Whitby prawns breaded with ginger and chilli for that authentic Asian flavour!!
