Fickle Crocus

There was a flower show at the Discussion Weekend in Scotland and I had hoped to take some nice crocuses to enter.  However most of them stayed resolutely in bud (or underground.)  In typical fickle fashion, there are several looking nice now I am home, including this natural hybrid, Crocus boryi x tournefortii.

One of the crocuses I did take was awarded a first prize ..... and I also exhibited photographs taken in Switzerland last summer.
