Light and shade

Today in drawing class we investigated 'tones' and had to draw 10 boxes across a page, moving from dark to light. I found this a difficult exercise as I'm inclined away from dark tones, so my gradation was much too light in tone!

In the social setting there was a tone of annoyance, as all the 'lifelong learners' (i.e. all the retired folk) were turned away from the College car park this morning.
