Bottom feeders

Three things I noticed when watching the swallows: They prefer to fly lower than the swifts and martins; Some swallows are faster than others; They systematically quarter an area for food - at the airfield they'd reappear in the same spot every few minutes.
How did I get this in focus? F*** knows.
