A picture speaks a thousand words........

The forecast was better for today, but was incorrect. More rain and high winds greeted the U3A C walking group as we set out for a 9 mile walk from Bolam Lake near Belsay. The rain was not constant but was there at lunchtime. Some of us sheltered under a tree by a wall, but not these 2 brave souls who must like soggy sandwiches!

It dried up later - for a while. We had to plod through hay meadows with no path to see because the growth in the last 4 weeks has been phenomenal. Let's hope there is a dry spell when the hay can be dried out.

Glad I went - it was an easy walk but plenty of fresh air and good company.
