Why do household chores take so long? By the time I was finished (and Hurricane Maria is laid low with flu and phoned to say she wouldn’t be coming), I only managed an hour’s translating this morning, and none this afternoon, as I took HH over to a physio session with a dear friend of many years. She gave him a good workout and a good programme of exercises, though I doubt he’ll be following it very faithfully (he hasn’t done ANY since he got home). This photo, hurriedly taken as we waited at the lights, doesn’t do justice to the beautiful Ipé tree in Ipanema, but it’s the best I can do today.
 
We returned via the supermarket, which took twice as long as it should have, as I’d left my list at home and was too tired to think straight. Just made it home before the phonoaudiologist arrived –we had completely forgotten that she’d be coming.
