On Top of the World
Thursday was our flight home - an early flight so no time for any final wanderings around Venice.
I think I enjoyed Venice more this time than first time round. With only three days it could have been a whirlwind of museums and churches, palaces and tours, with little time to absorb. But instead we were able to relax more and follow our feet, having got the tourist experience out of the way on our first visit.
Apart from the ultimate tourist experience of the gondola ride which was a wonderful way to see the city.
If you haven't seen them yet and are interested the other Venice Blips are here;

So onto the short flight home with a desire to revisit as soon as possible.
It's not often you find yourself taking a photo and not actually knowing which country you're in, but this is the case here.
It's in Europe if that's any help :o)
Now a wet weekend ahead and then Tuesday to Borrowdale in the Lake District for 3 nights where I hope beyond hope for some sunshine!
Thanks again for the hearts and stars and comments for Venice - I'll be catching up on journals over the weekend but apologies if I don't have time to comment on everything!
