'Winter' morning ????

Another glorious morning by the mighty Murray River. I took this at about 7.30am this morning when I went for a walk along the river bank. It was about 2 degrees celcius & the air was so fresh & crisp. Birds were singing all around me along the way....only saw two other people & they were a couple from interstate staying at the caravan park. We chatted for a short time about the river & I explained to them how where we were standing was actually all under water this time last year due to the floodwaters that came down stream from the bad floods that had occurred further upstream. We have just had another high river but not as high as last year. I love it when the river is in flood as it fills the swampy areas & backwaters & attracts all the waterbirds to the area. The level has dropped now & the floodplains are drying up - I can't wait til the next flood or at least high river.
