My big lump of a sixteen year old son made a request of me yesterday 'Mum, can I teach you to play Yu-Gi-Oh!'?

His brother and him have played this since they were teenie wee boys.. Hours and hours and a large amount of pocket money used to be spent absorbed in this. It's some cards with dragons and names like 'grave squirmer ' How hard can it be?

Bloody impossibly complicated that's how hard. With skills required such as strategy, tactical planning, knowledge of the strengths and weekends of yours and your opponent's deck, not to mention actually being able to read the tiny lettering that tell you what the combinations of monsters and spells can do ( I had to take my contacts out to play) and on top of it all - counting, loads of counting!

But.... I shall persevere. I will figure out how to play it!
