The loneliness of the long distance peat gatherer
Fifteen months ago we had peat cut for us on the moor but missed the window of opportunity of getting sister in law and husband to sort it out. As a consequence it sat in a river for the summer and didn't do a lot of srying - indeed it remained as mud.
A previous saga details our turning the wrong peats etc etc but needless to say we eventually stacked it late last November and little drying took place.
Today Tricia took a stroll to revisit it. Now slightly drier in places, we will try and gather some in. Not helped by the fact you almost certainly lose a Wellington getting to the peat and back.
Happy days.
