Jumped ship and went for a solo adventure to see what the Istanbul Biennial had to offer at Istanbul Modern today. It did not disappoint.
As is always the case some of it simply did not resonate but some was spellbinding.
"The Prophets" was clever and funny and ...I think the lady in this shot might agree with me.
There was more film footage to challenge the senses and a ceiling of suspended books.
I managed to find myself sitting through a (not very) short film in French with Turkish subtitles which, unsurprisingly left me in a state of confusion.
We leave Istanbul tonight, but all the promises my Turkish/Kurdish friends have made about it's magic were well founded.
