On the move

The Fergusson Container Terminal - Ports of Auckland

A fleet of yellow straddle carriers move up to two containers at a time between the ships and container stacks, and container stacks and trucks/trains. They are 3 storeys high and the driver sits sideways in a cab near the top. 'They receive instructions on container moves from the control tower via a computer screen in the straddle cabin'. It was parked when we got there then suddenly on the move - presumably responding to instructions.
