Not the Avro Vulcan.
This is the Runcorn and Widness Bridge. As it was designed by Roy Chadwick who also designed the Avro Vulcan, it was planned that the Vulcan (one of the most beautiful and iconic planes ever) would fly over the bridge on one of it's final flights, as a tribute. But that was before 'elf'n'safety' reared its ugly head and the flight was cancelled because they thought there would be too many people come to watch. So there I was, camera poised, heart beating and seriously disappointed, as was my son who had brought me to see it as a surprise.( Incidentally, his father helped to build the Vulcan during his apprenticeship) So here is the bridge, we just have to imagine the Vulcan.
