Nature play

I lovely relaxing day today. Mr J went to the football so I had the children both together and all to myself (doesn't feel like that has happened much lately).

We went for a bike ride with no real purpose of where we were heading. We passed a conker tree and dutifully stopped and added to our collection. Then decided to go and see the horses. They weren't in their usual field so we went into the church yard to see if they were in the paddock round the back. The sun was lovely and warm so I parked my bum on the bench just as the bells rang for 12 o'clock. The children had a great time playing together. I didn't interfere and didn't suggest things to do, but left to their own devices they just did what came naturally. They played. A collected pine cones and ran in and out of the church entrance, fascinated by his echo. P picked wild flowers and decorated the basket of her bike and ran around pretending to be a fairy. It was lovely to see and an hour very quickly passed. I will defiantly be planning less 'activities' in the future and just going with the flow of nature.
