Loooong lunch

Final stroll down the beach for lunch. Hard to believe, but you can just about see the restaurant in the background. Wonderful weather, wonderful walk, wonderful food. Strangely, we leave after breakfast tomorrow and arrive in England in time for lunch.

Zakynthos Fact #7 - The first settlement in Zakynthos was created in 1600BC by a man called ..... Zakynthos. Throughout history, the Island has come under the rule of Macedonia, the Romans, Byzantine Empire, Sicilians, Venetians, French, Russians, Ottomans, the British and finally, again, Greece. Despite more than 500 years of foreign occupation, the Zakynthians preserved the Greek language, tradition and orthodox faith. In the 19th century it became one of the most notable cultural centres in the Mediterranean with a renown Music School and generations of artists, scholars, and poets.
