Flower Friday & BCAM

I picked up some Chrysanthemums today, because I liked these in particular but also because I was in desperate need of a blip on this extremely soggy rainy day.   I chose these because of their deep pink color for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and was struck by this unusual growth in the center of the flower.  I have not seen this before…..a subtle reminder to check for lumps, ladies. 

We are going to miss the brunt of Hurricane Joaquin, but North and South Carolina are expected to get record-breaking and dangerous amounts of rain over the next few days.
