Another bird from my spring/summer list

Some birders are very serious about their birding, and they keep "life lists", i.e. a record of all the birds they see in their lifetime. Although I am not a serious birder, I enjoy keeping track of the birds I photograph on my daily photowalks. I have 30 birds on my bliplist for this spring and summer. The house finch is one of them. Didn't he pose nicely?

We enjoyed a good lunch at Bravo with our grandson and his girlfriend. They graduated from high school together six years ago. Now, after serving in the Army Rangers in Iraq and Afghanistan, he is taking summer classes at Kent State and she has graduated from college and is in medical school. It was a really enjoyable lunch with a pair of great young adults.

And one more thing: our heat wave broke. It's not cool, but it is pleasantly warm, sunny, and breezy. In short, a delightful summer day.
