School's out for summer!

Last day of the school year for us today - hurrah!

Not quite the blip I originally had in mind but I'm loving my snuggles with D at the moment and it was lovely chilling out with him this afternoon. He made another miraculous recovery this morning but apparently spent most of the day asleep at the creche, although he did eat loads which is a good sign as he's barely eaten anything this week.

I'm really proud of my little family at the moment as we've survived quite a tough year in terms of lots of changes for us all. My return to work in a new country has had a huge impact on the kids and hubby. D has had to get used to a francophone creche and, although it took nearly nine months before he stopped crying when we dropped him off, he has done amazingly well understanding both french and english and in fact one of his favourite expressions is "oo la la!", which makes us giggle. He has also made a cracking group of little friends who are all as daft as each other. O has adapted to four full days and one half day at school and happily attends supervision until we can collect her. We have just received her report and are so impressed and proud of the progress that she has made. Today, in class, she showed me a book that has been written in english and in braille by one of the parents and she understood all of it. The teachers explained that some of the kids have picked up the braille really well due to one little boy in their class who is practically blind. However, she is a little perplexed as to why we have to have such a long summer holiday as she's keen to get started in her new class!

Love my family to bits, especially as my hubby produced some champagne tonight to celebrate!
