night of heritage light

this evening Durdle Door was all lit up for the Night of Heritage Light.  we decided not to do battle with the forest of tripods that would inevitably be there for the occasion and watched from the garden instead.  i expect there will be some good pictures in the press tomorrow.

apparently over 3,000 visitors came to have a look.  the general consensus from locals is that it was a pretty lacklustre show considering the possibilities. the village was in gridlock for hours as everyone tried to get home.  one man was airlifted to hospital with a suspected heart attack and has sadly died.
