Raining cats and dogs
Torrential rain doesn't even being to describe the weather today. But it didn't stop us going out and about (getting wet was more appealing than spending the whole day in the caravan listening to the rain bouncing off the roof)!
All 11 of us drove down to Alnwick today. First stop was Barter Books as my parents had some books they wanted to try to sell. Then off to the treehouse at Alnwick Gardens. We had lunch there (gorgeous food, gorgeous location but VERY slow service which Ethan in particular really didn't appreciate. He did however LOVE charging round and round the treehouse walkway, especially the "wibbly wobbly bridge". Even in the pouring rain, we were hard pushed to get him off it! Hubbie, Granny and I walked up to see Alnwick Castle too but got so soaked doing so we wondered why we'd bothered! We didn't go inside though - far too expensive.
Back at the caravan site, Ethan went round to Paula's caravan to play with her 2 boys and have dinner there before we took the 3 boys to see the evening kids show for the final time. He gets on so well with them - it's such a shame we don't live closer so only tend to meet up a few times each year.
