from where I am today

The Covenanters.

Following yesterdays blip of the church and the Covenanters, I thought I would show you the monument erected to commemorate them.

The monument is a 30 foot high cluster of four columns that were once part of the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary when it was in Infirmary Street built in 1738 and demolished in 1884. The monument was built and paid for by Mr R A Macfie in 1885.

More rain today, and even a rather violent thunder storm, which was nice as it made me think of my mother who was always under the bed when it thundered!!!!!!! I never knew why she thought that would save her.

Have a great weekend.
