Neil Gunn

A beautiful day and a visit with our walking group to the Neil Gunn memorial.
I have put 3 extras, the first is a carving on a stone done by Mr Haldane , a teacher from Dingwall Academy, where my girls were educated and  strangely he also taught me when he was a young man  teaching then in Rothesay Academy.
The second is the memorial and the third is the fantastic view looking down over Dingwall and over to the Black Isle.
After our walk we of course went for coffee to the Station in Strathpeffer where several of us indulged in apple tart  (warm ) with ice cream!!
I have read some of Neil Gunn's short stories and I went to a play of 'The Silver Darlings' . I have a biography of his life, which I started to read some time ago. Maybe I will get it out again!
