Rain and a terrible day

We had so much rain over the weekend there were floods in our town.  The sky cleared today but more rain is expected tomorrow and thru the weekend.  

These are growing in our yard - all sorts of mushrooms have exploded all over.  

The terrible day is that there were lay-offs at work.  Very very deep cuts.  I did not get cut - but they have cut so deeply that those of us left worry that we won't be able to get anything done.  It seems like a terrible future before us.  I need to make a plan.
