He's fallen in the water!

Iain and I went kayaking on the Kalamazoo River a couple of days earlier, and persuaded Mhairi and Andrew to come with us for another outing.

We were taken up river in a mini bus, with a few other people and then kayaked down to the town again. It was lovely, really peaceful until Iain managed to capsize.  The water was warm and slow flowing, and pretty shallow, so he was fine, though he did make a bit of a drama out of clambering out.

In the late afternoon, Mhairi and I traipsed up over Baldhead mountain again and finally went for a swim in Lake Michigan. Fresh water, no seaweed, or tides, or sharks! Enough wind to make some waves which were fun, and warm enough to lie in the sun and dry off, without getting too hot or sunburnt.

Last day in Saugatuck, so Andrew and I went out for a meal without the children. We had cocktails then dined outside, overlooking the waterfront, until the thunder and lightning started and we had to rush inside, carrying our food!
