Wycoller Bridges
According to our guide book the tiny settlement of Wycoller pre dates the Norman Conquest, its Saxon name, Wic-alr means "Dairy Farm Among the Alders". There are three bridges spanning the river two seen here are the Clapper bridge and in the background the Pack Horse bridge. The oldest is the Clam bridge which is a little further up the valley, it is constructed of one slab of stone. I have added that as an extra.
We had a wonderful day out walking the hills in glorious sunshine.
