Carnivorous

Thanks so much to all who bestowed stars and favourites on my Blood Moon -  I'd like to get back to you all personally, but once again time seems to be very short. 

Today's offering is not for the squeamish, but I am perpetually fascinated by the activities of wasps, and spent some time watching this individual carefully snipping off a piece of flesh from the mouth of this dead wood mouse. It will take the meaty morsel back to the nest to feed its developing larvae - the adults subsist on a more liquid diet of nectar, rotting fruit or sugary drinks!
