On my street this morning a group of vultures both Turkey Vultures and Black Vultures were dining on a recently deceased Grey Squirrel. The squirrel appeared to be the victim of a 'hit and run'. Very sad, but I digress...
The diners were in an unusually, for vultures anyway, calm and sharing mood. All of a sudden in swoopes a young Turkey Vulture. He came in fast! Like some big deal! Wings aflappin', figuring that he was just gonna hop right up and have himself a big helping of squirrel! Well, he was immediately put in his place and told about himself and his really poor table manners! Seems that vultures, as a group, have rather strict rules about those 'table manners'! So who knew?
