High and low tides and a success!

With the moon currently being at its closest point to the Earth the tides are particularly high and low. This afternoon the sea was enthusiastically pouring under the road bridge into the Ythan Estuary. 

We received some good news last night at the judging of the annual Formartine in Bloom competition. As the "extra" photograph shows the efforts of the Nicer Newburgh gardening group were rewarded with award of first prize in the medium-sized community section. To say that we are pleased would be an under-statement!
