The lonely pheasent

As the shooting season is imminent  there are hundreds of pheasants roaming around. Sadly this pheasant's mate came to grief on a small country road and he was standing looking at her and no doubt wondering why she didn't get up. I managed to shoot him with my camera before he wandered off.
