The Reveal

I would be the first to admit that there is not  a coherent artistic narrative here.

We were each sent a picture that was a composite of three drawings of a being – mine had the head of a duck, the body of a carrot and indeterminate legs.

We were asked to construct a costume based on the image and to prepare to be a champion.

My artistic partner went with a vomit-stained tie and jacket and an invitation to eat at The Duck and Carrot.

I had the tie, the duck’s bill, the carrots and a bust with a laurel wreath.

The sub-text referred to a very old joke:

“Dad, there is a man at the door with a bill”

“Nonsense Son. It must be a duck with a cap on”
