Dusky
It took me a while to work out what bird this is since it wasn't listed on the Canberra birds website. The blue beak and white tail trim helped identify it as a dusky woodswallow (Artamus cyanopterus
Artamidae). Apparently, "the name "woodswallow" is a misnomer as they are not closely related to true swallows. Instead, they belong to the family Artamidae, which also includes butcherbirds, currawongs and the Australian magpie." (Wikipedia, 2015). This fellow was soft and grey like a Russian blue.
