a day with the birds

Another lovely day so we went to the RSPB reserve at Leighton Moss. My camera kit isn’t ideal for bird photography so I need to find something that’s large and close ……… like a pheasant on the footpath :)

It was a good day for wildlife. Birds I identified included a heron, shoveller, water rail, widgeon, pintail and a flock of redshank. There was an otter in one of the pools and on the return route  comma and speckled wood butterflies fluttered by the footpath. Back at the visitor centre the buddleia was covered with red admirals. 

I’m pleased that so many of you liked yesterday’s blip. I really appreciate all the comments, stars and hearts.
