Lest we forget
We were the first arrivals at the Hiroshima Memorial Museum this morning.
It is a small, beautifully designed and intensely moving exhibit. We were not the only ones to shed a tear. Local Japanese visitors were visibly moved as well.
The tricycle reminds me of this iconic picture by US photographer William Eggleston, taken in 1969. I think the curator was aware of the connection.
