Trees past

My main for Mono Monday is a section through a fallen Oak tree, its on a farm track i use regularly on the way to one of our facilities. I have seen it from growing tree to just fallen and now cut up definitely now a past tree and when looked at like this in cross section you can see its past life!!!
My extra is another past tree with history. This wooden post is all that is left of the former POW camp at Whasset now on of our special schools. Why its been left standing is a mystery but definitely a link with a world now lost.
