Mono Monday: Past Power
Part of the Alfred Escher memorial statue in front of Zürich railway station. Alfred Escher (1819-1882) was a tycoon of his time and besides a business leader also a politician and railway pioneer. He had a direct role in the foundation and management of part of the Swiss railway system, the Gotthard Railway, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, the bank Credit Suisse and the insurer Swiss Life.
