Swanning about

We slept reasonably well.....once up we decided that a long walk was in order after our indulgent trip down south. We walked along the Leeds Liverpool canal from near home up through Leigh and obviously back again, probably 5 miles or thereabouts.

As we parked up, the automatic bridge over the canal was just being lowered after a boat had passed through.......we'd never seen it in the open position, sadly we were just five minutes too late. Blip one out the window.!

On our way back, we had just one sit down en route back to their car. We saw lots of fellow walkers, boaters, dog walkers all enjoying the late September sun.

This family of swans glided by a couple of times.........I liked the tranquility they created with their ripples on the water.

We had a quick trip round to Lidl for some fresh produce after our walk........prawns and crayfish salad for dinner tonight I think ;-)
Might as well whilst it's still warm enough for salads :-)
