Twins

My sister bought us two ruby roses for our anniversary two years ago.  Surprisingly, the one which lives in Arran has had a very poor year and will need a lot of tlc to flourish next season.

Meanwhile on returning to the Neglected Garden I find the other in much better fettle:  sitting unfed and unsprayed in horrible clay soil and getting only morning sun, it looks well,  Is this a comment on my gardening skills, that a rose does better without me?  Boo hoo!
