National Arboretum

A pleasent run over to North East Washington and our first visit to the National Arboretum which is a 450 acre garden filled with possibilities.  Nice walk around the National Herb Garden and bonsai  museum - the oldest bonsai dating back to the early c17th.  

The pillars in the photograph were removed from the US Capitol building during renovation work in the 1950s and are on display in the gardens.
