Friday night is music night
Tonight was the much anticipated Murchison version of 'Stars in their eyes'. To raise money for the local playcentre a talent show was organized by the Murchison branch of the Tasman Youth Council and Playcentre staff.
We had entrants as young as 6 and probably as old as 86 entering. H (aged 6) sang Dancing Queen, Rex (probably in his 80's) sang a country song. In between times we had Janis Joplin, The Dixie Chicks, Jewel, Peggy Lee and then the overall winner - Adele (she cleans up everywhere it seems)
The winner for my blip though was ABBA , here singing 'Waterloo'. They were the laugh of the night, mainly because we of a certain age can remember dressing up in the ridiculous gear and for Andrea who looked like way too much like Benny Anderson :-)
A good night was had by all. The winner (one of our year 10 students) won a family trip on the Interislander ferry!
