The Odyssey

We went to the cinema this evening to see The Man from U.N.C.L.E. The film itself failed to inspire me, but the venue in itself made the evening worthwhile. The Odyssey is a beautifully restored proper old cinema that reopened in November 2014 after being empty, under threat of demolition since 1995. Upstairs the seating is arranged on rows in the usual way. Downstairs, where we sat tonight, very comfortable seats are arranged, cabaret style, around small tables with a bar at the rear that is open throughout the showing. It's all very plush and glitzy.
