Jolly lacrosse sticks.....!

The forecast was good for today and we had promised ourselves a Saturday out enjoying the end of September sunshine. 

We decided to continue our tour of Kent villages and stopped in Benenden for lunch in a very nice old pub. The name Benenden rang a bell....and so we found our way to Benenden School, a very prestigious private school for girls. Princess Anne went there, but better than that.....my very good friend Gail did too, and at the same time, though in a different year group. 

We followed a waymark/public footpath sign which took us into the grounds and then turned to go past the school building. Somewhat impressive as my extra photo shows!

Today was obviously lacrosse match day! Fantastic! I could have watched for ages! Hockey was my game but we had the occasional try at lacrosse.

We had a while in Tenterden too before heading home in lovely sunshine. The trees are beginning to turn to their autumn colours....truly wonderful.
