Dusky thorn
Really not much to offer today, so I am afraid it is yet another moth trap offering. I have caught quite a few of these Dusky thorns recently in my moth trap along with the September thorn and the Canary-shouldered thorn, I think they are all rather lovely, especially the males with their wonderful feathery antennae.
The Dusky thorn Ennomos fuscantaria, is found throughout the UK, but more common in the southern part of it's range. It has a wingspan of 35 -40 mm and flies from August to early October.
